We start in the fresh morning for the climb of the pyramid of the Tresenta. We start with an easy walk through the glacier moraine to reach the bottom of the Tresenta. From here we start climbing in easy rocks and in the beggining of the season, crampons will be usefull as hard snow is covering the mountain. Your guide will teach you how to use them, how to climb and you'll be roped up with your guide. The top will offer you a wonderfull sight on Gran Paradiso, on the Ciarforon and the wild south side of the range. Way down by the same itinerary and will gently go back to the hut.
Hours: 5 to 6 h
Altitude covered: + and - 850m
Dinner and night in the hut.

An early start brings us to the steep moraine which leads us to the glacier’s flank. We put on our harness and crampons, rope up and start climbing the Laveciau glacier. As we reach the shoulder at 3750m, the sunrise in the east sets a glow on the full sweep of the southern Alps. There is still 300m to go but now we can see our goal : the summit and its white Madonna. A last steep section, then we start the final rocky ridge. We leave our crampons here and finish the ascent on the easy rocks that support the virgin statue at the summit. Every famous summit in the western Alps is laid out before us from Monte Rosa to the Viso. We soak up the majestic view then concentrate on the descent to the hut.
Back to Chamonix by car.
