Mont Blanc Alpine introduction Course

Hello Pierre, 

Pierre was  our guide for climbing the Matterhorn. He was incredibly friendly, pushed us well and was as professionnal as you could hope for - I intended to use Chamonix Mont Blanc guides again for an ascent of the Eiger. Higly recommended.

I just want to give some feedback and say thank you for some amazing five days in the mountains last week.

Our Mt Blanc course was very well organized, and the programme exactly as we hoped it would be.

Especially I want to thank our guide Catalin for his patience and skills. He made our whole team feel confident on the terrain and snow, even two had never used crampons before. He had all the qualifications we looked for in a guide, and underlying all was good safety judgements.

I would absolutely recommend him to others as a high mountain guide.

I'd like to thank you for the good organization of the trip last week (june 20-24). It was a very good experience and we were lucky that we could summit the Mont Blanc on Friday the 23rd. Chamonix is a lovely place so the day before I acclimatized at and enjoyed Aiguille du Midi, a walk from plan d'Aiguille to Mer de Glace and have a drink a Col de Brévent. Pointe Isabelle is a good flexible hotel and very special thanks for Victor who is an excellent guide who taught me a lot about mountaineering.

Many thanks for the course! It was great fun and amazing to summit.

I believe the first 2 days were a good pace to make sure we were ready for the ascension of Mont Blanc! It was good to push us in order to get confident with the crampons. It was great fun getting used to the glacier! 

Denis was great on the way up to Mont Blanc… amazing guide. very consistent pace and little stopping to ensure we reached the summit (many guides turned around because of the wind), he was very patient and made sure we got there in good time! 

If anything it would have been good to have a lesson on the rope techniques and to learn how to tie the knots etc… but the aim of the course was to get up Mont Blanc and we definitely got there! Thanks very much.

"My boyfriend and I signed up for the five days training and climbing expedition on Mount Blanc chancing the last week of the climbing season. We got paired with a fantastic mix of people from across the world as well as our guides. Every single day was very well organised with a clear daily plan communicated in advance. We had a good two days training sessions on rock and ice-climbing which were brilliant at covering the basics as well as offering us some fantastic views around Charmonix. We got together for beers and food each day. Unfortunately, the weather turned bad and couldn't attempt Mont Blanc. I'm glad their experience stopped the most eager of us, as we met many climbers who turned back due to storms. Our guides still made it happen for us, and organised the climb of Gran Pardiso in the Italian Alps, where the weather was better. It was a truly wonderful experience where we've enjoyed the company of the group and the guides. We've made great friends and plan to meet again to conquer other mountains.

The hotel for the first two nights was a brilliant 4 starts in the middle of Charmoix, with our last two nights spent in the mountain hut on Gran Paradiso. Most importantly, the atmosphere was fantastic, laughs all round, good fun and team spirit to it's best. This inspired us to climb more mountains. Most importantly, our guides were very focused on the group's safety and well being. Did I mentioned that I lost my passport and they found it? Pierre drove back to return it first thing in the morning, and this saved me a great deal of stress and an unnecessary trip to Paris for an emergency one.

All in all, a great experience and would certainly go on another tour with them. I would recommend going earlier in the season when the weather is less likely to turn. Make sure you are fit, the guides will help you achieve your maximum potential and you'll enjoy the experience so much more if you can keep your spirits up. I was part of a week long training and climbing expedition on Mount Blanc. It was a truly wonderful experience and very well organised. Our guide was good at training the group for the first two days and getting us up to speed with what we would experience during the climb including getting used to altitude, use of crampons, ice axes etc.

Sebestian, our guide who led me and another person to the top of Mount Blanc was also very patient and split every day into various small parts which helped us take one step at a time and hence made the day easier to navigate.

All in all, a great experience and would certainly go on another tour with them!

Thank you for your assistance getting me onto the mountain. I've had an absolutely marvellous experience and thoroughly enjoyed the company of my three fellow climbers. I was not disappointed not making the summit. That's always a nice objective, however to me the journey is not only upwards but within.

Thanks to the proactive attitude and helpfulness of the company and Pierre (our guide) we were able to climb Mont Blanc on a very short notice.

It was a great experience - not only reaching the summit, but I also improved my mountaineering skills and techniques.

Above all Pierre is a great guide and fun to have a beer with!

We had an amazing experience and were very pleased with the accommodations, organization, and the overall format of the course.

Our guide, Henry Fauk, was an exceptional guide. He went above and beyond his required duties including extra climbing sessions at the refuge and organizing early breakfasts for our early starts.

He was very personable and knowledgeable and an overall very impressive mountain guide. He was completely invested in our group and really pushed one of the other clients to ensure he summited.

I would highly recommend him to any clients. We also had the pleasure of having Matthieu Martinez as our guide for the summit. He is a new guide, but was also very personable, knowledgeable, and an overall great guide.

"Wow. What can I say about Chamonixmontblancguides and Pierre? Top athlete who knows his way around a mountain. Very personal service his company provide. If there are ways to get up a mountain within your capabilities he will make it happen.

From the minute we contacted his company about going up Mont Blanc, Sarah in the office was right on the pulse replying straight away and offering multiple options. Few companies we had contacted prior to them seemed to really want to help. Weather can always impact your trip, but they were always looking at alternatives to give you a chance.

The hotel they put you in centre of chamonix is first class (Pointe Isabelle). You are picked up and dropped off. Given a first class lunch bag for the expedition.

The experience Pierre shares with you is really amazing. Like all expeditions, you need to be fit and ready to take on the mountain. No company or man should or could drag you up. So always bear that in mind.

Would use Pierre and Chamonixmontblancguides again and recommend highly. Our objective was to climb Mont Blanc and they made it happen :)"
